What ceramic coating costs in San Diego

Prices vary depending on paint condition and the level of coating. Here’s a realistic range from a professional mobile service:

  • Paint correction + sealant (entry level): $350–$450

  • 1-stage correction + 3-year ceramic coating: $750–$1,150

  • 2-stage correction + 5-year ceramic coating: $950–$1,850

A few things to know about these numbers: paint correction is almost always necessary before coating. Applying ceramic over scratched or swirled paint just locks in the imperfections permanently. Any reputable detailer will insist on correction first.

You’ll also see spray-on “ceramic” products at auto parts stores for $30–50. These are not the same thing. They’re ceramic-infused sealants that last 3–6 months, not a true ceramic coating that bonds to the paint. If longevity and protection are what you’re after, they’re not a substitute.
